New Update Anouced!

Interrupt has announced the next update and given it to testers. The update should be out publicly as well as a public change logs, so if you know the change log please don't post it here.

I think I can release the Change Log Now so hear goes 4/21/13

  • Entity collision - this has been mucked with a ton to support angled walls and things like entities standing on entities
  • Decals - blood and hit marks
  • Static mesh batching - used for decorative and structural geometry like bridges
  • Better stacking support - stacks should add onto stacks when picked up
  • Projectile collisions are now more accurate
  • Flying enemies should fly around the space available, and not stay at the same height
  • Fixed hitboxes for some enemies, like bats
  • Fixed entity sprites being offset incorrectly (like the boss monster)
  • Map updated to show angled walls

Here's the latest dev build of Delver, this one is an attempt to fix the graphical oddities people have been seeing.

  • Dungeon generator now places starting tile at a random position and orientation (player rotation needs to be rotated to match, not happening yet)
  • Dungeon generator can place doors between tiles, if any doors are defined in the generator info.dat file for a theme
  • Better doors! Monsters can open unlocked doors, they should block line of sight when closed.
  • Added an exit button to open the locked door on the boss level if you get teleported inside the locked area

Release candidate! If things test out okay in this version, this could be the next build of Delver. Fixes:

  • Doors shouldn't spawn on top of eachother anymore
  • Player starting direction should always be looking out away from the exit door
  • Better door rotation on the hinge
  • Doors no longer teleport away due to teleport traps

Note: This is not an official release but is just a notification from the Developer

  • Keys were invisible
  • Players / monsters could get stuck climbing out of water
  • Teleport traps could teleport into angled walls
