Gold is the currency used in Delver. It is dropped by monsters and can be found inside containers. The amount increases depending on how low you are in the dungeon. Gold will not be lost if the player dies, allowing the player to spend it in the various Shops.
Seweral jewelry items also work as fixed gold stack when picked up. These include gems and Golden Candle.
